All are Welcome!
Welcome to the Baha'i House of Worship in Wilmette,IL. This beautiful nine-sided, dome structure took over 40 years to complete. I went during the day time and felt drawn to go back to get some night shots. The center of the dome has a invocation written in Arabic Calligraphy translated it means “O Thou The Glory of The Most Glorious” and at night it is illuminated with a golden glow. Every time I entered the Temple I felt as though my breath was taken from me. I still have not be able to figure out if it was just in awe of the beauty that awaited inside or some other divine matter. The building was under renovations when I visited. Work is being done to the gardens and steps surrounding the structure. By next year it should be just as beautiful and breath taking on the outside as the dome is on the inside. If you are ever in the area you should go see it, it is truly worth it. Until then, I hope my pictures can do it justice.
